Memories:

She was a joy to be around. Although she could rarely remember the punchline to a joke, she had a way of lighting up the room with her humor. Her family meant more to her than anything. She was so caring, so loving, so talented and crafty. There was nothing she couldn't do. She could pick up any instrument and play it with ease, but mostly we would sit and listen to her play the piano or organ. She loved to dance. It was hard for her to sit still when the music would start to play. I think she got this love from her mom - There's so many memories of the two of them dancing together. She made beautiful creative cakes. Once the people at work learned of this talent, they would order custom cakes. So, she would work at her job all day, then rush home to make several cakes every night. Wedding cakes were always a gift to our cousins and (her daughter) Angie & Billy when they got married. She could sew absolutely anything - made most of our clothes when we were kids. She could create any kind of Halloween costume - even opened her own store where people would come from miles around to rent them. She often relived the moment when she and her sister Patty made a haunted house on Halloween and scared all of the neighborhood kids when they were trick or treating. Then the next morning, they found the yard filled with candy that was lost when the kids would run away screaming. When she told the story, she'd just laugh and laugh and laugh and say what a fun time she had that night. She was always busy making some kind of craft, or jewelry, or painting, or crocheting. She loved what she did and it always showed in her projects. There was nothing that she would not try. She loved kids - and they loved her. Whether she was babysitting, or they just wanted to come over and stay for days at a time, she 'always' had some extra kids with her. She'd sit behind the couch and entertain us with a puppet show. Or she'd made shadow characters on the wall using her hands - and we'd have to guess what they were. She was a wonderful woman that will be greatly missed. But there's so many memories to keep her spirit alive forever in our hearts. Each of those memories will be cherished forever. She never wanted anyone to be sad, she said she always wanted upbeat music at her service (a New Orleans type of funeral).... So please remember the happy stuff, talk about her often, and know how much she loved life.
