Theresa Marcum

Theresa G. Marcum finished a 68-year journey on January 2nd, 2025. Born August 4th, 1956, to the late James H. and Irene (nee Turner) Cornelison in Cincinnati, Ohio. Devoted wife of Gregory W. Marcum. Beloved Mother of Ian Marcum. Loving Sister of David (Karen) Cornelison, Douglas (Tammy) Cornelison, and Ron Spurlock. Cherished aunt to many numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Also survived by many cousins, and fur friends.

Theresa ran marathons. That alone can say a lot about a person, but after 20+ of those, including the Flying Pig, Washington DC, and many other world marathons, there has to be something else that kept her going. That was her family. She fiercely loved, protected, and nurtured them into the people they are today. She was devoted to them, and when they didn't need her, because she did such a good job caring for them, she devoted herself to her church. Theresa helped others in any way she could. Mission Trips were a big way she gave back, traveling to help the Christian Appalachian Project to work in their kitchen. She would also host weekly bible studies for others in her congregation at Crossroads East and created many memories and friendships as a volunteer at the Way of Wisdom learning community. There was always a book by her side in her travels, a continuing mission to stay curious and keep learning. And occasionally, when she was at home, and they weren't on high alert protecting their home, a cat would join her on her lap and join in on her reading, getting just as much love from Theresa as they were giving her.

A time for visitation will take place Friday, January 10th, 2025, from 3:30PM to 5PM at Crossroads Church East Side, 4450 Eastgate S Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45245. A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Inter Parish Ministries Food Bank (IPM), 4623 Aicholtz Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45244.
