Sylvia Pagliaro

BETHEL - Sylvia Ann Pagliaro, age 67, took her place in the stars on August 20, 2024. Born January 2, 1957 to the late Harley Monjar and Georgia Sexton (nee King). Loving mother of Tammie (Johnny) Caldwell, Heidi (Patrick) Herrington, Christian Grey, Cheyenne Pagliaro, Kara Pagliaro, Giselle Pagliaro and many other children she fostered. Cherished Grandmother of Caitlin, Gabrielle, and Aaron. Beloved Sister of Lawrence (Ann) Monjar, Gerald (Rose) Monjar, the late Linda Jean Monjar, and the late Kenneth Monjar. Niece of Genevieve L.M. Schmaltz. Also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews. 

Sylvia had a big heart and made room for a large extended family including biological, adopted, and numerous foster children. She was an accomplished photographer (lighthouses and her children were her favorite subjects) and seamstress (her Halloween costumes were perfection), and her delicious cooking was inspirational. She was a lover of the arts and encouraged her children to find their own footing in the world of dance and music. Her favorite thing was to nerd out over Star Trek and Star Wars with her son Christian and best friend Simone. Her favorite place was Disney World. She loved action movies, adventure novels, and her many cats. She was a strong-willed woman with complex emotions and relationships, but throughout life's ups and downs, she always did what she thought was best. 

A time for visitation will take place Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 5pm until time of service start around 6:30pm at Moore Family Funeral Homes, 225 Spring St. Batavia, OH 45103. In Lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Focus on Youth Foster Agency or Child Focus in Sylvia's Honor.
