Silas John Carpenter

Korean War Veteran US Navy USS WHITEHURST (DE-634) CARPENTER S. John, 5/8/19 at the age of 85 years, resident of Batavia. Devoted husband of 61 years to Marcella (nee Thornberry) Carpenter. Father of Jac Carpenter and Debra McCarty. Brother of the late Carl Carpenter. Grandfather of 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday, 5/14/19 from 2PM until time of service 4PM at Moore Family Funeral Home, 6708 Main Street, Newtown, Ohio. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor's choice. John graduated from Hughes High School Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked for many years for the City of Cincinnati Transit System.
