Hiles, Roy L. Sr, peacefully passed on July 4, 2024, at The Anderson in Cincinnati, Ohio. Beloved husband of Doris Hiles and the late Virginia Hiles. Loving father of Nina Hogan, Mark (Donna) Hiles, Dorothy (Phillip) Wells, Roy Hiles Jr., John Hiles and the late Mary Ann Vansuch. Stepfather of Timothy McLaughlin, Tina McLaughlin, Jill (David) Battin. Cherished grandfather of Heather, Chelsea, Jeremy, Alison, April, Mark, Brian, Justin, Mallory, Emma, Bailey, Taylor Rae and deceased Holly Popp and Sean Cuciak. Great Grandfather of Kaitlyn, Gillian, Tim, Haden, Savannah, Miranda, Charlotte, Phoenix, Jackson , Sierra, Jude, Zoe, Emily, Megan, Demi, Thatcher, Tinsley and Lyla Grace. Great-Great-grandfather of Jason, Jeter and Saint. Brother of the late Jean Engleman and the late Leslie Hiles.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 15, 2024 from 9 AM until 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 7820 Beechmont Ave. Cincinnati OH. 45255.
Reception immediately following Mass at the church in Heritage Hall.
Interment St. Joseph Cemetery 4500 Foley Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45238.
Roy was Educated at Xavier University and at the University of Cincinnati. As Senior VP of Commercial Banking at Provident bank for 30 yrs., Roy contributed significantly to the financial sector before his retirement in 1997, with this extensive knowledge and expertise he then traveled and started the Hiles Funding Group where he served as CEO & President. Roy proudly served in the US Marines 1st Division in World War II. Then served in Reserves until 1951. Roy earned the prestigious Friars Award for his many years of voluntary service to Friars & his community. He loved running and often participated in many marathons. Remembrances may be directed to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church or Hospice of Cincinnati. Roy was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
