Robert Samuel Wilks

On Friday, 5 February 2021, Robert Samuel Wilks, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 83 in his Batavia, Ohio home.  Robert was born in Detroit on 26 February 1937 to Wilbur and Nyla (Gohl) Wilks. Robert earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. On 4 April 1964, Robert married Bernadette and together they raised three sons, Kevin, Eric and Bradley.  Through camping, sailing, hiking, fishing and hunting, Robert introduced his family to the great outdoors which he thoroughly enjoyed. As an engineer, Robert was awarded several patents throughout his career. In later years, Robert golfed frequently, enjoying the game and, to a higher degree, the camaraderie that accompanied it. A purveyor of fine fatherly humor, Robert willingly shared stories of a frayed knot (afraid not), the anvil salesman, and other characters whose existence bordered on the silly.  Robert is survived by his wife Bernadette; sons Kevin (Catherine), Eric (Lauri) and Bradley (Amy); and grandchildren Kelan, Tarin and Julian.
