Michael Wade Shrader, age 64, passed away on December 16, 2019.
Michael was born in Bad Hersfeld, Germany to Bryant (Ed) and Marianne Shrader.
Michael has been a resident of Clermont County since the mid 80’s. When he moved there, he started his painting business, Painting The Town. He painted the town for nearly 25 years before he had to retire for health issues.
Michael was passionate about swimming and motorcycles. He was a member of the YMCA and participated in the Masters swimming program. Among all of his accomplishments, he went on to swim at an international Master’s swim meet in Australia. Michael was also passionate about Harley Davidson motorcycles in the early 90's when he started to collect and customize them. He was well known in the show circuit at the time and won many events with his motorcycles. Even after his forced retirement from painting, he continued to collect and restore his beloved motorcycles up to the end.
Another passion dear to his heart was Alcoholics Anonymous. Mike had been clean and sober since 1985. He was helped by many members, and he too passed that along and sponsored other members. He helped many on the road to recovery. Without AA, we don’t know where Michael would have ended up. Thank you, AA.
He will be deeply missed by brothers, Ronald and David Shrader and by his loyal dog, Gracie. His friends will miss swapping stories with Michael and his escapes on motorcycle rides and the all-around kindness that Michael embodied. Michael enjoyed restoring vintage Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Services for Michael will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 4:00 PM at Moore Family Funeral Home, 225 Spring Street, Batavia, OH.
Michael’s favorite charity was the American Motorcycle Association, Clermont County Animal Shelter, YMCA of Clermont County, and Alcoholics Anonymous.
