Bill was a retired pipe fitter with Quality Piping, Inc owned and operated by Bobby, Billy and Chris Hall. He loved those guys as brothers and would do anything for them, as they would for him.
Bill was also his own mechanic and would build his cars. He worked for Anstaett Dodge Car Dealership and then later delivered oil for them. Bill was very much into all of his children and grandchildren. His second best companion was his furbaby "Maggie" who came to adopt him when she was 6 weeks old. She is now 17 years old. The two of them were inseparable.
Bill was very proud of his daughters and son and his sons-in-law. He was a person who never minced words and said what he felt and thought, and was never sorry for what he said. Sometimes he was caustic, but he said he would stand behind his words.
He knew everyone in Batavia growing up and they knew him. He was saying several weeks ago to his wife that the town wasn't the same due to new people coming in and not knowing them. And he said that she was a "true islander" meaning that she was born and raised all but eight years of her life in Batavia. She replied to him, "you have to grow with the times in order to survive."
He loved fishing and going with his wife when she took pictures of the sunsets. He liked going to the Coon Hunters Club and just talking with the guys. So to his best friend Earl Carter, his fishing buddy Wally Dixie ( besides Maggie) and his buddy from those early years to present Roger Osborne.... and the rest who are too many to name.....I'll talk at you later. To his children Cathy, Theresa, and Adam.....love you Fat Cat...Rugrat....and Bull.....to all of his grandchildren and great granddaughter...so very proud of what you are making of yourselves...and to his sons-in- law...Wayne Smith and Doug Walker....just remember the ride.....and Tiffany...keep dizzy izzy safe...
