James "Harry" Rice

James “Harry” Rice, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 12, 2023 in Milford, OH.  

He was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on October 18, 1931 of the late Rev. Pete and Dora Belle Wallen Rice. He served in the Air Force flying weather reconnaissance during the Korean War. He was a million mile driver for Roadway Express and a longtime member of Newtown Baptist Church. Any day spent on the farm or on a tractor in the fields was a good day. 

He is survived by one brother Rev. Olive Rice of Neptune Beach FL, two sons Michael of Milford OH and Anthony of Dayton OH, four grandchildren, Anna, Alisha, Zachary (&Emma) and Jeremy and one great grandson Isaac. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Lena, brothers Harley, Rev. Orden, Arnold and Joseph, sisters Cora Henegar, Genevieve Hargis, Flora Goode, Norma Ward, Jewell Sanders and Ruth Lay.  

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford.
