James Edward Murphy

BATAVIA - James E. Murphy, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on July 13, 2021. He was born on November 28, 1933 to the late Ralph and Myrtle (nee Mosteler) Murphy. He was the devoted husband of the late Delores Murphy; beloved father of Pamela (Dave) Gardner, Deborah (Dennis) Vance, and Jim (Shannon) Murphy; cherished grandfather of David (Michelle) Gardner, Jamie (Jim) Brown, Jill (Bill) Maas, Darak (Pam) Gardner, Dennis (Stefanie) Vance Jr., Jason Vance, Hailley Hurley, Leah Vance and Trista Vance; and adored great-grandfather of Robert, Cody, Jackie, Caroline, Cooper, Parker, Sammy, Morgan, David (Trey), Ethan, Brady, Chayse, Shawn Jr., Haiden, Tayah, Taylor and Dennis (Trey). A visitation will be held at Moore Family Funeral Homes Batavia from 11AM until 12PM funeral service on Friday, July 16, 2021. Interment will follow at Batavia Union Cemetery. James proudly served in the United States Army and was always proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren and their many accomplishments. He was most excited to hear about how each played in extracurricular activities and enjoyed watching throughout the years as he could.
