Gooding, Jack Fleet, resident of Batavia, formerly of New Richmond, 03/14/2019 at the age of 88. Husband of the late Betty L. (2016), Audrey (1987) and Sally (1996). Father of Tracy A. Gooding, Terry L. (Richard) Wagner, Phillip E. Gooding and Paul J. (Helen) Platz. Grandfather of Kara O. On Monday, March 25, 2019, family will welcome family and friends to The Church of the Good Samaritan (25 Amelia-Olive Branch Road, Amelia, Ohio 45102) for a visitation at 2:30PM and a memorial service at 3PM. Reception will follow. F & AM with Scottish Rite service 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Green Mound Cemetery, New Richmond. Jack was a member of the Buckeye Blue Lodge and Scottish Rite of Cincinnati, and Amelia Masonic Lodge # 590 F&AM. Jack was Mayor of New Richmond from 1996 to 1999. He graduated from the University of Texas in Mechanical Engineering. He loved to collect watches and clocks; since 1966 he was member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, where he received the Golden Circle Award and was a member of the Old Timers Chapter #22. He played clarinet with two local bands: The Williamsburg Community Band and New Horizons Band (Montgomery, Ohio). While attending Amarillo High School, his marching band played in the Cotton Bowl. He came to Cincinnati during the 1950's to work for General Electric. Other companies he worked for included Carrier AC, and Trane. Jack often said his greatest professional pride was working on the fuel and oxidizer system for the Space Shuttle, which he did for Keco Industries Inc. If you met Jack, you may have heard that he lived through the Dust Bowl. Memorials may be directed to The Church of the Good Samaritan.
