Harry Scholten

March 18, 1943 — February 26, 2025

Union Township

Harry Joseph Scholten Jr., age 81, reunited with lost family on February 26th, 2025. Born March 18th, 1943 to the late Harry Sr. and Jeanette (nee Lohman) Scholten. Loving husband to the late Gail A. Scholten. Devoted Father of Kim (Jimmy) Dieringer, and Jenny (Rob) French. Beloved Papaw to Eric (Brittany), Kyle, Jacob, and Abby. Great Papaw to Landon, Brady, and Lily. Cherished Brother to Roger (Patty) Scholten, Jeanette Scholten, Connie (Jerome) Foster, and the late Ronnie Scholten. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Harry would be the guy waving as you drove by him on his street. His neighbors knew him as the "Mayor of the street" because he would always be waving at them from his front yard. Early in his life he became a painter, starting at a young age. He would be drafted into the Navy during Vietnam, and come back home to start painting homes and offices with the discipline and hard work he learned there. Out of all the colors he would put on walls and ceilings, none look as great to him as his family. Everything he did was for them, and they were the light in his world. Harry was very diligent in caring for them, and would work hard in ensuring their care and safety. His best friend and beloved pet Charlie would cuddle up to him when he got tired, and when he really wanted to wind down, he'd shake you down for all you had at the card table; only to hand it right back cause it was all for fun. He rooted for Ohio State and The Bengals, and somehow held his cool when his family went on to root for other schools and teams, a testament to his unwavering love for his family.

A time for visitation will take place Friday, March 7th, 2025, from 4pm until 6pm at Moore Family Funeral Home, 6708 Main St. Newtown, Oh 45244.
