Gail M Wittes, 62, of Batavia, OH, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 15, 2014 at her home.
She was born in Keene, NH on September 7, 1952, the daughter of Russell W. and Joan L. Howard. She married John A. Wittes, Jr. on December 24, 1976 in Salamanca, NY.
Gail worked at Ozone Leotards as Director of Sales Development. She graduated from Keene High School in 1970 and earned her Associates Degree from Reading Area Community College. While raising her family in Middlebury, VT she was a USA swimming official and operated a home business called The Witty Weaver. Gail was a gourmet cook, baker and enjoyed gardening. She had a passion for dog training and obedience and took great pride competing with her Rottweiler Cyra.
Gail is survived by her spouse of 37 years, John A. Wittes, Jr.; Daughter Erin Wittes Dougherty and her husband Michael of Cincinnati, OH; Sons: John A. Wittes, III of Nantucket, MA, and Edrick Wittes of Gorham, ME; Sisters: Robin K. Rieseberg and her husband Christian of Hoover, AL, and April L. McElhinny and her husband David of Raymond, ME; one grandchild: Max Dougherty of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother this past July and her father in 2006.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 at 5 p.m. at the Moore Family Funeral Home, 6708 Main St. Newtown, Ohio.
