Elizabeth J. Schalk

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP - Elizabeth "Betty" J. Schalk, age 95, passed away on May 31, 2024. She was born on August 21, 1928, to the late Thomas and Irene (nee Brennan) Roat. Betty was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Schalk; devoted mother of Barb (late Ron) Dameron, Eric (Teresa) Schalk, Beth (late Mike) Carr, Peggy Schalk, and the late Steve (surviving Vicky) Schalk; cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and dear sister of Sue Rottmueller, and the late Tom Roat, Patty Sunday, and Winnie Sullivan. 

Betty was an avid reader, so much so that she was known to read a book a day. Betty loved dancing, and continued doing so until the age of 93. She was a caring person who was deeply committed to her family, and was heavily involved with girl scouts, cub scouts, and PTA. 

Private services will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty's honor may be made to a charity of choice.
