Edward C. Cook, age 82, of Union Township, passed away Friday, March 31, 2019 at his home. He was born August 28, 1936 in Newtown to the late Clarence Cook, Sr. and Alma Patterson Cook. Ed was an amazing mechanic who could fix anything. He worked for Plainville Concrete and also at his family-owned business, Cook’s Garage in Newtown. Ed owned several race cars, loved raccoon hunting, enjoyed watching NASCAR, listening to 700WLW, and was a generous person to friends and family in need.
Ed is survived by his children, Ed (Kim) Cook and Laura Rogers; sister, Mary (Raymond) Philhower; grandchildren, Edward Cook, III, Heather Cook, Ashley (Eddie) Rohrer, Douglas (Jenny) Cook, Emily, Abigail, Hannah, and Frances Rogers, and Kenneth Rogers, IV; great-grandfather of Jordan, Sadie, Hayden, and Zaylee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Doug Cook; brothers, Clarence, William, James, and Frank Cook.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Moore Family Funeral Home, 6708 Main Street, Newtown. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. with Masonic Services provided by Batavia Lodge #104 F. & A.M. followed by Scottish Rite. Interment will follow at Flagg Spring Cemetery in Newtown.
