ECKER
David S. Died peacefully at 92 on March 4. Predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Peg, in May of 2015. Also survived by his four children Margaret, Pat (Linda), Mike (Colleen), and Buz (Betsy). His eight grandchildren are Pat (Danielle), Tim, Dan (Charlotte), Bob, Mike, John, Annie (Corey), and Rosie. Also survived by four great grandchildren: Henry, Lillian, Benjamin, and Rielynn; plus a brother, Uncle Butch. Survived by best friends Tots Hinsch, Don Hawley, and H Shaw. Graduate of Walnut Hills High School Class of 1942. Attended Denison University, member of Beta Theta Pi. Served in the OSS in WWII, and participated in the liberation of St. Lo, Paris, Drancy, Carcassonne, Clermont Ferrand, and Sete. Began in the warehouse at Stearns and Foster Mattress Company, and ended his career as Vice President of the Mattress Division. Bagged groceries with his friends at Kroger in Mariemont for 16 years in retirement. Lived at the Deupree House in Hyde Park. Service at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Terrace Park, Saturday, April 1 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 100 Miami Avenue, Terrace Park, OH 45174.
