Dannie Dale Smith

Dannie Dale Smith, Sr. passed from this life and into eternal life on July 14th, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born in Breckinridge County, KY on December 19, 1949, to the late Estel and Ruby Smith. He was the dedicated business owner of Smith Pallets that he inherited from his father. In addition to his parents, his sister, Brenda Leonhardt preceded him in death and will join them in their eternal life. Dannie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Patricia Smith whom he adored and dedicated his life to each and every day. He has left to fill his spot as the guardian angel to his loving wife, as he always promised. He is also survived by his three children, Tracy Bertram (Paul), Dannie Dale Smith, Jr. (Caroline), who will now be appointed to fill his role as head of family, and Christy Johnson (Steven). His love and fatherly guidance extended to so many others especially Shawn Johnson. He was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren, Amber Jones (Terry), Brittany Clarkson (Nathan), Jenna Villalba, Tyler Johnson (Alexa), Becca Cook (Chaz), Daylen Johnson and Landan Smith. He also had five great- grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Addyson, Kohben, Kinleigh, Kennedy and Vickie. Dannie is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Gray (Freddy), Pam Sheckles (Mike), brothers and sister-in-law's, Donnie Middleton (Suellen), Mike Middleton (Martha), Phillip Middleton (Lisa); and Vickie Banta (Gary); his favorite grand dog, Lulu and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins (Ronnie Salmon) and loved ones - so many that space would not allow us to list them all. Dannie touched the life of so many others throughout his life as he was the humblest, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend to many others. His wings were ready, but our hearts were not. It's not goodbye but see you later as he will be missed more than he could ever imagine, and we were so blessed to have him on this earth for 71 years. Ohio Service: Visitation will be held for friends and family on Monday, July 19, 2021, from 12:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Moore Family Funeral Home (6708 Main St, Newtown, OH 45244). Kentucky Service: Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
