Calvin Sheldon Lewis

WWII Veteran US Navy, Lewis, Calvin S. " Dumpy" resident of Batavia 01/19/2018 age 94 Devoted husband of Grace Marie Lewis (nee Fisher) for 67 years. Loving father of Cynthia Lewis and Annette (John) Gatchett. Brother of the late Howard, Charles and Naomi Lewis and Ruth Chilton. Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey Karl (Laura) Gatchett and Jillian Marie (Spencer) Harden. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sisters-in-law and his dog Foxy Rebecca. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations to the Faith United Methodist Church Building Fund 180 N. 5th St. Batavia, Ohio 45103. Calvin was a 60 year member of the American Legion Post 237, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce President's Club, a 50 year member of the Batavia Rotary Club (1952-2002). Calvin was a Batavia Township Trustee for 24 years and was instrumental in bringing the Ford Plant to Batavia. For 26 years he owned and operated Clermont County Dry Cleaners and worked for Plainville Concrete Company for 13 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.
