Barbara Adkins Sims, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, on her 70th birthday. Born on December 16, 1954, in Lockland, Ohio, Barbara spent her later years in Williamsburg, Ohio, where she created a warm and loving home for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rv and Alice Adkins, son Justin Toney, grandson Jacob Toney, and sisters Alice Adkins, and Linda McMannis. Barbara is survived by her devoted spouse, David Toney; her children, Matthew Toney (Jennifer), Christopher Toney (Leah) and Michelle Caudill; her cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Eli, Abel, Belle and William Toney; her precious great-grandchildren Evander, Eston and Amelia; and her sister, Terry Adkins.
Barbara was known for her vibrant spirit and her love for crafting, which allowed her to create beautiful handmade treasures that will be cherished by her family. She also enjoyed camping, where she made countless memories surrounded by nature and loved ones, as well as caring for her beloved fur babies.
Her infectious laughter and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the ASPCA in honor of Barbara's diagnosis and passion for pets.
Forever in our hearts, Barbara's legacy of love and creativity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
