Archie Poe

POE, Archie L. of Batavia, passed away on 3/22/23 at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Poe (nee O'Daire) of 54 years; son Archie Clay Poe; daughter Lisa (Warren) Poe; brothers Ronnie (Dory) Poe, Jerry (Debbie) Poe, and Johnny Poe; sister Sandra (Everett Jewell) Cooper; grandchildren Joseph Hackett, Colton Hill and Starla Hill and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Archie and Anna Louise (Smitson) Poe; brother Darell (Mable) Poe; sisters Carolyn (Ralph) Wiglesworth, and Marjorie Wright, and his beloved granddaughter Raven Poe. Archie was loved by everyone he met and had a great sense of humor - you never knew what he was going to say next. While in the hospital he had all the nurses laughing (especially his favorite nurses, Logan and John who took great care of him). He also enjoyed the spelling of words and if you asked him how to spell something he would know it every time (and won many spelling bees!). Archie worked as a carpenter for 25 years and also worked for Jeff Wyler in the last 15 years of his life. His pastimes included riding his motorcycle, working on his truck with his grandson, Joseph, planting tulips and vegetables, and watching the Bengals who he was a big fan of. Archie took great care of his family and will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends and family for a visitation on Sunday, March 26th, 2023 from 3:00PM until time of service 5:00PM at Moore Family Funeral Homes, 225 Spring St., Batavia. Graveside service will be Monday, March 27th, 2023 at 12:00PM at Batavia Union Cemetery.
