Ann Therese Getz

BATAVIA - Ann Therese Getz, 82 years old.  Beloved wife of John E. Getz, and daughter of John F. (Kraus) and Mable R. (Navarre) passed away Monday morning, August 28, 2023.  Surrounded by and cared for by her immediate family, after a 2 week struggle with a (just discovered) cancerous tumor.  Thankfully, she didn't suffer much.  Ann was the youngest of 5, preceded in death by brother Jack (Lois), and Tom (Marge, 2nd Sally-surviving).  Loving sister of Rita (the late Hank) Spezia and Jim (Sue). Sister-in-law of Tom (Sharon) and the late Barbara Ann Getz.  A HARD working and DEVOTED housewife, of almost 63 years, and mother of 3 - Edward (Ingrid), John, and Susan, and son-in-law Michael Dotson.  Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Grandmother of 4 - Elizabeth, Joey, John, and Kathrine; and recent proud Great-Grandmother of 1 - Theodore.  She was Dearly loved and will be Sorely missed.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 5 from 4pm to 8pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park. She will lie instate on Wednesday, September 6 from 10:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Parish, 15020 Hampton Street, Grosse Pointe Park. Interment to follow at Mt. Elliott Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
