Aija Biruta Zarins

ZARINS Aija Biruta, age 81. Resident of Anderson Township. Aija was born February 7, 1939 in Cesis, Latvia to Karlis and Elza Sparnins Zarins. Her family traveled to the United States when she was young. Aija is survived by her younger sister Vija Zarins of Vallejo, CA and a Nephew Andrejs Adamovics of Stockton, CA. Vija says her sister was always smart, talented and wise. She graduated in the top ten of her High School Class and earned a full scholarship to the University of Cincinnati where she graduated with a Master's Degree in Business Administration. She was an excellent pianist and organist and would accompany her sister while she performed on the violin. She had a love for animals and cared for the deer, racoons and birds that would visit to feed off the food she had left for them. She was kind hearted and would always help others. Her family and neighbors attended a private burial of her cremated remains that were placed between her parents in Batavia Union Cemetery.
